Yoga Moves for Every Body & Give Peace a Chant presents:
Yoga Nidra ~ Ocean of Peace Workshop
with Sandra Leigh
Thank you to all who attended the weekend workshop,
and thanks to the Small Neighbourhood Grant Program
for supporting our project.
It was a new moon and Lunar New Year! We took time out to re-set our mental grooves naturally, through the healing power of our own intention, breath energy and deep rest.
Sandra Leigh led participants through creative warm-up movements, activating and releasing blocked energy before practicing a few simple yoga asana.
She shared a few simple but valuable, balancing breathing techniques, (pranayama) to prepare the mind & body for a deep, deep relaxation known as yoga nidra (or yogic sleep). There was opportunity to set heart-felt intentions (sankalpa) dedicated to health and wellness that brought a sense of wholeness through all five layers of the self, known as pancha maya kosha.
Sound healing included Tibetan Bowl, Tambura and Ocean Waves, and ancient Sanskrit mantras for peace, known to be purifying for our atmosphere.
This workshop was presented Free of Charge
Thanks to the Small Neighbourhood Grant Program.
